Target is making it easier for last-minute shoppers to drive up curbside for Christmas gifts and groceries.

The cutoff to order for same-day pickup or delivery at Target.com or the Target app is 5 p.m. Dec. 24, Target shared exclusively with USA TODAY.

“We know guests are looking for those last-minute gifts or items right before the holiday, and our industry-leading same-day services are here to save the day with a fast, safe and reliable way to get everything they need,” Rick Gomez, Target’s chief marketing, digital and strategy officer, said in a statement.

Amazon also is offering same-day delivery for gifts and groceries on Christmas Eve, but it's not available for all products in all regions and order minimums may apply.

Target announced its deadlines for last-minute shoppers.

Unlike other retailers, Target doesn't require an order minimum or membership for its free, contactless pickup options. Target says it has doubled the number of Drive Up parking spots for holiday shopping and has additional employees dedicated to the pickup options.

Target said it has added 150,000 Shipt shoppers this season for same-day delivery. Delivery times are typically available up until a few hours before stores close and vary by location and Shipt Shopper availability, Target said.

Target extended its store hours in the days leading up to Christmas and most stores are open from 7 a.m. to midnight. Hours can vary by location and are listed on the store locator at Target.com/store-locator.

For Christmas Eve, most Target stores will stay open until 8 p.m. local time, which is two hours later than Walmart, which will close stores at 6 p.m.
